IceFest Martini

Feb 19

February 20 is the official kick off of the World of Ice, Icefest 2009 in Yorkville, Ontario. With at least 17 ice sculptures created out of 25,000 lbs of ice, this may be a spectacle you want to check out if you live in the vicinity. How does this relate to the acai berry?

Ken McClelland created a martini specifically for this event orinally dubbed the Icefest Martini. Starting with Wyborowa Exquisite Polish vodka mised with acai berry juice and blended with apple and raspberry. It was found that adding tequila complimented this mixture quite well. Not stopping there, Ken ads Uphoria Pomegranate liqour and a five-spice powdered rim and you have a unique drink to impress guests with.

1.5 oz Wyborowa Exquisite vodka

1 oz Uphoria Pomegranate liquor

1/2 oz Olmeca tequila

2 oz açaí juice

Five-spice powder (for rim)

Fresh berries (for garnish)

Pour ingredients into shaker filled with ice.

Shake vigorously. Pour into chilled martini glass rimmed with five-spice powder. Garnish with fresh berries.
